Our main CD Services database is huge (almost 700,000 entries at the last count!), so we have to restrict the level of data we transfer to the on-line shops. While the existing shops and the departments in them will expand to a great degree, the logistics of dealing with such a high volume of data means that, for now, especially in the ‘General’ areas it is not possible to list all the information we hold in the way we would want you to see it.
However, our ‘specialist’ on-line departments (‘Synthesizer’, ‘Ambient’, ‘Progressive, ‘Canterbury’, ‘Jazz-Rock’, ‘Psychedelic’, ‘Euro-Rock’, ‘Industrial’, ‘Rock’, ‘Guitar’, ‘Blues’ etc.,) are well populated with a high percentage of what we have available, with plenty scope for expansion over the coming months. In the case of the more ‘generalised’ departments (‘General’, ‘Oldies’, ‘Folk’, Jazz’, ‘World Music’, etc.), time and space restrictions mean you will find just a small portion of what exists in the main system. We are 100% committed to giving priority to the ‘specialist’ departments, because this is where we are known to be leaders in our fields. When you browse through the entertaining and detailed ‘Featured’ sections of these departments, you will quickly realise that this is where we really do know our stuff.
The ‘Featured’ sections of each department are where you find most of our reviews, some with ‘extra information’ links for an even more detailed description of the music it contains. These sections include ‘Featured Artist or Band’, ‘Featured New Releases’ and ‘Featured Titles’ and occasionally there are other selected areas that may include ‘Featured DVDs’, ‘Featured Rarities’ and the like, depending on what is around at the time. The ‘New Release’ sections will be updated whenever a new title is added, so please come back as often as you like to see what’s new.
All the departments also have their own ‘Bargain Basement’ and ‘Special Offer’ sections where you will find all the current reduced price items, some at quite unbelievable reductions!
PLEASE NOTE: Just because you have not found the artist or title you are looking for in our On-line store at this moment in time, does not mean that we don’t supply that CD – We most likely do!
Our Customers Services department is second to none and our people welcome any enquiries you may have on artists and groups you HAVE found featured in our shop, but it is equally important to us that you contact them with details of any you HAVE NOT found! Once we know what you are looking for, we can either quickly transfer that data into the site, or we can contact you directly with e-mailed availability and price information on the title(s) you require. Our people have a vast knowledge of music in many areas and if they can put that to good use to help you, they will. Special ordering is a daily procedure here, so any discs we don’t have on the shelf, or listed on the store site can be ordered for you and delivered (relatively quickly in most cases) and at no extra cost. Supplying most domestic and imported CD’s is generally not a problem - We literally have most of them available here to order at the touch of a button!
All the CD Services departments will grow over a period of time and no doubt feature more of what you might be looking for in the near future.
